Hyatt Coconut Plantation, Bonita Springs, FL 34134

Experience the Old Florida feel of the Southern Gulf Coast.  Coconut Plantation has wide open spaces with woods and preserves.  The master plan was for fourteen buildings and only three buildings were built before the discovery of nesting eagles put a halt to construction.  The pool complex is incredible and empty seats are plentiful.  We enjoy walking the quiet road 9/10 mile each way to the Hyatt Regency or you could bike or jog the 1 1/2 miles out to Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41)

Main Pool Complex

Hyatt Coconut Plantation is the ideal destination for vacationers who love the pool.  This photo shows one of the pools in the main pool area.  There is a lazy river with free inner tubes for the kids ( and young at heart)  Adults can relax by the adults only pool which is separated by fifty yards and a privacy hedge.  Swim laps or relax in the hot tub.  La Veranda provides a great poolside casual dining and bar experience.

Activities for Children

A friend of mine said the key to a great family vacation is that the kids have to have fun.  Coconut Plantation has activities for the children with ceramics, painting, rock climbing wall, video game room and a movie theater.

Just in case the beach and the exceptional pools are not enough we got Kid Stuff!

Enjoy a ten minute boat ride to a private island beach.  Hyatt provides lounge chairs, umbrellas, clean restrooms and showers.  You can bring your own cooler for a Sun & Fun Picnic or some wet cold ones.  If you are going to spend several hours a day at the beach, how wonderful to have your own private island.

Botanical Gardens -  Naples

Bonita Springs is conveniently located half way between Naples and Fort Myers.  You can enjoy the attractions in these larger resort towns such as:  Naples Botanical Gardens, 3Rd Street South, Everglades Tours, Deep Sea Fishing, Golf, The Edison / Ford Winter Home in Fort Myers, Florida Repertory Theater and Boston Red Sox Spring Training.
